Food Vendors

Welcome Food vendors! Some of you may be new to our Festival and some of you may be returning friends. Either way – Welcome! The Festival will be held rain or shine Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, 2008 once again on the tree-lined Helotes Festival Grounds. Last year’s event was a huge success – we had beautiful weather which attracted crowds of around 3,500 for the weekend including the hundreds of volunteers who helped make the event possible. Thor, the World’s Tallest Living Warhorse, and the jousting demonstration really made a difference in our attendance. We’re planning on having them back in 2008 with additional performances.

Our food vendors are an important component of the Festival and we are always working to expand our offerings. The Athletic Games, Music, Food, and Celtic Vendors all combine to create the successful cultural event that it is. We are expecting record crowds at the 2008 San Antonio Celtic Festival and Highland Games.

The SAGHA Board of Directors works every year to balance the needs of the athletes, vendors, guests, performers and service providers. As a result, we make changes and adjustments to the layout and location of features at the Festival every year. If you have a location preference, please indicate that on your application; however, we cannot guarantee requests for specific locations for booth sites, nor can we promise that you have the same booth site from year to year.

Again this year, the SAHGA will be the only seller of soft drinks and water. This will help ensure that there is no shortage of non-alcoholic drinks and also provide some extra funds to SAHGA in order that we can continue to expand our Festival and offer new and exciting things each year. We will still allow our food vendors to sell any drinks other than domestic soft drinks, beer, or water. This means you may sell lemonades, milkshakes, and imported soft drinks (i.e. Irn Bru). If you have a question as to whether or not your drink will be allowed, please don’t hesitate to call me at 210-833-2954. We hope that this does not deter you from participating in our event.

Applications and information on booth pricing, our special-rate hotel, and other vendor criteria are attached.

Please note that we only have one hotel this year with special festival rates (Motel 6). This is because the weekend of our festival is the same as the Final Four Basketball Tournament and other hotels we called were requiring a minimum of four nights stay at over $100.00 per night. Currently, we are only able to block 20 rooms at the Motel 6. Once people begin reserving rooms, we will be able to block off more rooms if they are available. Because of this, I suggest you make any necessary reservations as soon as possible. The block of rooms will be released to the general public on March 4th, so be sure to book before then.

If you are interested in attending the 2008 Festival as a vendor, please submit your completed application package by March 3, 2008. Information on booth pricing, host hotels, and other vendor criteria can be found here.

You may download the application form here. Please send applications with payment to:

San Antonio Highland Games Association
Vendor Committee
6366 Parkland Oaks Drive

Any applications received after this date will be considered on an individual basis. If we do not receive payment for your booth space by March 24, 2008, you must pay in cash at the gate when you arrive to set up. We WILL NOT accept a check at that point.

We will send out notification of acceptance or rejection by March 10, 2008. Wristbands and parking passes will be distributed at the gate on Friday, April 4. If you will be arriving on Saturday to set up, please allow for enough time to get set up prior to opening the gates. All vehicles must be off the premises by 9 am on Saturday.
If you have questions or need assistance you can contact me by phone or e-mail. We look forward to seeing you at the Festival in 2008.

Sincerely,

Tamara Carroll
