Volunteer opportunities are available in the following areas:

    Entry Gates

The entry gates are the face of the Games. It is an opportunity to meet and greet all of the visitor and participants.  You will handle crowd control, take tickets at entry or hand out programs.

    Athletic Field

This is why we all come out- The heavy athletics! Come help the big guys get set up, keep refreshments stocked, run errands and help on the field.

    Kid’s Glen

The Kid’s Glen offers a variety of volunteer opportunities.  We have entertainers, hands on physical activities and well as educational activities.  The Kid’s Glen is the check in for Texas Scottish Heritage Award that can be earned at the Games (see Kid’s Glen). This is a busy, fun and rewarding area to volunteer.

    Hospitality/ Volunteer Center

This is the strategic hub of the Games – and you can help keep it in order. Check in volunteers, manage shift assignments, pass out information, keep refreshments stocked and all other duties that are needed! The Hospitality/ Volunteer Center is the main point of contact for officers, vendors, and volunteers.

San Antonio Highland Games Association Information Booth

This is booth is the central point for visitors- information, lost and found, maps, and t-shirts sales.  This a great position if you enjoy visiting with people.

    Stage Managers

Here is your chance to party with the rich and famous!  As stage manager you will take care of wants and needs of the performers and get them on and off the stage on time.  We have three stages for musicians, dancers and Scottish activities.

    Office Operations

We need assistance in setting up cash drawers and counting tills.  If you have bank or retail experience it would be a plus!

    Vendors and Clan Check In

This volunteer opportunity is available Friday and Saturday morning.  In this position you will provide vendors and clans instructions for driving on site, help them find their locations, and get all vehicles cleared from the property before the event begins.

    Friday Set Up

This job is a lot of labor, but a lot of fun.  There is a great deal equipment to be distributed throughout the grounds and stages to be set up.

    Sunday Evening Tear Down

The event has tables, chairs and tents that need to be wrangled Sunday evening.  Our Clan friends and vendors often need help tearing down displays and moving supplies to the parking lots.

    Monday Clean Up

Like any big party at your house, there is clean up the next morning.  We move equipment back to storage, pick up trash and all the little things to close out another successful event.
