Meet our Judge and Piper

Judge - Pamela Moisey - Denver, Colorado

Pamela Patrick Moisey has had a passion for all forms of dance, especially Highland Dancing, since she began dancing at the age of 8. Moving around as a child she trained mostly with Betty Lawrence, Sheila Mittig and Catherine Fisher over the years. During this time, she enjoyed traveling around the U.S. to compete making many friends along the way, many which have become lifelong! Pam was a successful competitive Highland Dancer throughout the United States, and has been teaching for over 40 years. She has coached many champion dancers at both Regional and National levels.

Pam is certified as a Fellow Member with the B.A.T.D., and an adjudicator for the R.S.O.B.H.D Judges panel. She has judged throughout the United States and Canada. She enjoys teaching workshops and traveling which continues to grow her dance family!

Pam also works in recreation and loves hiking with her dog in the great state of Colorado! She has three grown children and two wonderful grandsons!

Piper - Doug Frobese - Duncanville, Texas

Doug Frobese began playing bagpipes at age 9 at St. Thomas Episcopal School in
Houston, Texas. In 1991, Doug joined the Hamilton (now St. Thomas Alumni) Pipe
Band, served as pipe major from 1997 to 2000 when the band won grade 3A and took
third prize in grade 2 at the World Pipe Band Championships, and played with the band
when it won the grade 2 World Championship in 2019.

Besides pipe bands, Doug also plays for Scottish highland dancing competitions and
with the Celtic folk bands The Rogues and Scotland Rising. Doug played for the United
States National Dancing Championships in 2008 and 2014. When not piping, Doug is a
lawyer in Dallas.
